Painting Class and High Tea at Siskiyou Arts Museum! On Sunday May 1st, artist and well known retired school teacher, Penny Heilman, will share her remarkable talent for turning found objects into art objects at a painting workshop at Siskiyou Arts Museum in Dunsmuir.
Tea for Two is a painting workshop for everyone. No previous painting skills required. Scheduled from 2pm to 5pm Sunday afternoon, participants will paint a tea cup under Heilman’s guidance, in SAM’s downstairs workshop area, and then attend High Tea upstairs as they wait for their masterpiece to dry. Tea cups, art supplies and refreshments are included in the $15 registration fee.
Heilman, artist Penelope Joy, is well known for transforming everything from lawn chairs and rotary telephones to old milk cans and mugs into works of art. Her carousel horse was a decorative centerpiece in the SAM gift store throughout 2015. “Everyone is invited and encouraged to come and bring a friend. It’s tea for two!” notes Penelope Joy.
