The Siskiyou Arts Museum recently learned that they are a recipient of a Community Arts Endowment Grant from the Shasta Regional Community Foundation. The grant will fund a new mural for the north side of the City Hall building in Dunsmuir.

“Visitors and residents are thrilled with the new mosaic design by artist Monica Zinda that graces Belnap Fountain in the Dunsmuir Historic District. Siskiyou Arts Museum is thrilled to be able to continue this trend to beautify Dunsmuir with wonderful public art projects, thanks to grant assistance from the Shasta Regional Community Foundation” said SAM Board member, Joanne Steele.

The Dunsmuir Beautification Committee is made up of Barbara Cross, Helen Cartwright and Tim Holt.. The mural will be completed by next fall, in time for a celebration unveiling during the 2016 Dunsmuir Fall Artwalk.

Siskiyou Arts Museum will oversee the project and the winning proposal comes from artist Kim Solga.
