Functional Art: An exploration of art that is aesthetically pleasing and also functional.

Functional Art is a blend of fine art & craft with a challenging mix of form and function and is often either one-of-a-kind or limited editions. Occupying that tenuous space between fine art and the everyday, functional art refers to aesthetic objects that serve utilitarian purposes. When creating a functional piece of art, the artist’s intent is to bring works of creativity and beauty into our everyday lives. Functional art is designed to make us rethink the way we look at ordinary things, sometimes by using unusual materials in their construction.  An opening reception will be held on Saturday, October 8, 2016, from 5 to 7pm.
