Julie L. Long’s painting for auction,

Connected Visions opened at the Siskiyou Arts Museum on July 12th, to a crowd of Dunsmuir 2nd Saturday arts enthusiasts. The show features the paintings of Chuck Prudhomme and Julie L. Long, both north state artists who paint in the plein air style best known through the Impressionist era. The quest to capture light on canvas is a centuries old exploration of artists. Plein air literally translates to the act of painting outdoors. The pursuit of a plein air painter is to capture the light with paint on canvas of a moment in time when the light is constantly changing.

Please note that both Chuck and Julie have donated a painting to be auctioned off with most of the proceeds benefiting SAM. Auction bid sheets are in the gallery next to the paintings. There will be a live auction to close the bidding at the end of the show in September.
